Rescue rope techniques workshop in San Anton

The last Thursday we run a rescue rope technique workshop in San Anton (Malaga) with a lovely couple from the UK.  Ian was so inquisitive about solving emergency situations which may occur during climbing that we spent all the day tying knots, building hauling systems and practising emergency techniques. Obviously it is impossible to eliminate all the risk involved in rock climbing, but as people say: “Shit happens”, so it might be useful to know for how many different purposes you can use your rope and a few carabiners. The only problem was that everyone wanted to be a rescuer and nobody wanted to be a casualty. Anyway at the end of the day I nearly run out of possible emergency scenarios…
