Climbing from dawn till dusk
Last 2 days I had the pleasure to run an intense rock climbing instruction with Diana and Cathy from the UK. I arrived to Olive Branch Guesthouse at breakfast time, so smell of fresh coffee, fried bacon and eggs was spreading across the kitchen and even further… A few minutes later we hiked up to the crags with backpacks full of ropes, quickdraws, belay devices and other equipment for climbing. I again met Karen & Co. from Oslo – they completed their course just month ago and now they’re climbing on 6a! That’s nice, I am so proud 😉
The first day was just a warm up before the next day – we made a scope of 1 pitch climbing course and multi-pitch strategy with practise of abseiling techniques and of course some basic retreating techniques. Diana and Cathy onsighted some 4 and 5 grades routes – particular one with a bit spooky finish… that was just to test your “psyche” guys and keep you in the alertness mode. The last climb (6a) we climbed in 3 person team and finished at twilight, then got to the car in complete darkness.
